The mission of the Foundation for Archaeobotanical Research in Microfossils is to foster research in the field of archaeobotany.
The FARM was founded with the goal of creating a center for archaeobotanical training and research that will be a permanent resource for archaeobotanists. The FARM is an independent, registered nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that is not directly attached to any other entity or bureaucracy. This independence allows for a flexibility in implementation of concepts and methods that promotes innovation and creativity in a low-risk environment, thus advancing the field.
1. To create a physical laboratory workspace in which archaeobotanical researchers can have access to state of the art equipment, training, and peer consultation.
2. To share information with the global archaeobotanical community via a virtual community and website that is freely accessible to all who seek access.
